Privacy Policy
MileHop is designed around a simple principle: a mileage logger should not need to continuously follow you around.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how MileHop handles information when you use the MileHop iOS app and the milehop.xyz website. The policy describes the current app design and data practices as of the effective date above.
Information stored by the app
MileHop may store information that you enter or create in the app, including saved location names, street addresses, map coordinates, travel dates, route mileage, travel history, and app preferences. The current app is designed to keep this mileage data locally on your device rather than requiring a MileHop account or MileHop-operated cloud service.
Location access
MileHop is not designed to continuously track your location. When you intentionally use a location-based feature, such as I'm Here or saving your current position, the app may request your current location from iOS. The resulting coordinate may be compared with your saved locations or used as a route point when you choose to do so.
Apple Maps and Apple services
MileHop uses Apple mapping and location technologies for functions such as address or place search, geocoding, reverse geocoding, and driving-route calculations. Requests needed to provide those functions may be processed by Apple under Apple's applicable privacy terms and policies. MileHop does not operate Apple's mapping services.
Reports and sharing
PDF and CSV mileage reports are generated from your MileHop data. MileHop only shares or exports a report when you choose a destination through iOS sharing features. Once you send a report to another app, service, person, or storage provider, that recipient's privacy practices apply.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The current MileHop app design does not include advertising networks, cross-app tracking, or a MileHop-operated analytics account that collects your mileage history. MileHop does not sell personal information.
Data retention and deletion
Locally stored MileHop data remains on your device until you edit or remove it in the app, clear applicable cached data, or remove the app and its local data from your device. If you email MileHop Support, the information you choose to send may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, maintain support records, or comply with legal obligations.
Support communications
If you contact support@milehop.xyz, MileHop receives the information you voluntarily include in your message. Email delivery and storage may also involve the email providers used by you and by MileHop.
Children
MileHop is a work-mileage utility and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If MileHop's features or data practices materially change, this policy may be updated. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is published.
